About Akon Lighting America

Akon Lighting is a global renewable energy developer with deep expertise in solar, wind and
hydro. With projects extending into Africa, India, Haiti and the US, Akon Lighting has become a
leader of renewable energy assets in developing countries.

Akon, with his vision to bring Lighting to every home in Africa and other poverty stricken
areas quickly realized the most effective solution would be through solar energy. He began
Akon Lighting Africa in 2013 and rapidly deployed solar accessories, solar street lighting and
micro grids to millions of Africans who have been living without this basic necessity that so
many take for granted.

In 2018 he decided to extend his vision into America where he launched Akon Lighting America
with the idea of reinvesting his profits back into Africa. Today, Akon Lighting has provided
Lighting to millions of homes across the globe and will continue to invest in developing
countries until every person living without power will have access to a renewable energy
